Providing Educational Opportunities for Our Children

About the Garvey Education Foundation

Supporting educational opportunities for students and families throughout the Garvey community.

Supporting Student Success

Incorporated in 2005, the Garvey Education Foundation was created to enhance and strengthen academic programs and extracurricular activities in the Garvey School District.

The Foundation awards mini-grants of $400–$600 to staff for core curriculum projects, after-school activities, and innovative initiatives that challenge students to reach high academic standards. These opportunities are made possible through generous donations from corporate partners, community leaders, and staff.

Supporting Our Community

The Foundation supports the Rosemead Backpack Program and partners with the Garvey School District to distribute food and toys to families in need during the holidays.

GEF also hosts its annual Awards Gala to recognize members and partners of the Garvey community while raising funds to support students, families, and educational programs.

Community Impact

During the COVID-19 pandemic, GEF established the COVID-19 Family Relief Fund and Summer Community Support Campaign to provide additional assistance to families in need.

Through these efforts, GEF distributed more than 2,500 food and health baskets and 30,000 pounds of produce, meat, and cheese to more than 125 high-need families.
