ROSEMEAD, CA – Since the 2016-17 school year, Garvey School District has implemented a Computer Science Immersion Program for all TK through grade 6 students. The District’s elementary Computer Science Schools, provided through a partnership with Code To The Future, are among the first in LA County in using digital learning to help students develop coding skills as well as a wide range of future ready competencies with the support of cutting-edge technological devices and “Maker Space.” The program has been a tremendous success and has drawn outside educators, including superintendents and principals, to visit our classrooms. In the 2019-20 school year, a newly designed Computer Science Program will be launched at the two intermediate schools through the sponsorship from the University of Southern California and Code.org.
