Garvey School District launched a Computer Science Immersion Program for all TK through grade 6 students at four schools in the 2016-17 school year. The program has been a tremendous success and has received much recognition from outside educators.
To commemorate the second year anniversary and the expansion of the program to include three additional schools in the 2018-19 school year, Garvey will be hosting a Press Conference on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bitely Elementary School.
At the event, our student leaders will share their learning journey and showcase their projects, including robots and digital games they have created.
Additionally, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the District’s first “Maker Space” – a technologically equipped room designed to foster 21st century competencies in students. A BBQ dinner will be served to celebrate this year’s success with guests, students, family, and staff.
